So...if anyone is interested in a workaround to be able to use/have shop use a lift at the appropriate lifting points I'll post my "fix".
I did not want to have to remove the plate again (nor take it off every time I needed a tire rotation) so I used a mini sawzall to cut the plate in the...
LOL...that comes with the territory here. Just like most Youtube help vids, there's always someone who has to argue or give "better" ways to do it.
Mind if I ask what size bit???...1/4"?? And did you drill a hole in each pocket?
Hmmm....you just reminded me I went thru a full service wash the other day and the guy up front was using a power wand type sprayer as a "pre-wash" before the truck went into the automated one. And he did spray along the hood line, cowl, wheel wells, etc. so that's probably exactly where it came...
The only issue I have is it really shouldn't be there or why its there....I mean there's no water in any other areas that have depression/puddle spots....why there?? If it was just a few water drops or a tiny amount I wouldn't be concerned. But again, these (all compartments) were full right...
Thanks, I had read that thread while anticipating my battery replacement - but as you know the search thing here isn't real great in finding specific things but I'll hunt around for it re the actual water issue.
Wow...a little harsh but ok, thanks teacher. lol
Anyway - I know my way around vehs. and have owned/worked on them for 40+ years. I NEVER said or implied anything should or would be waterproof in the engine compartment. I realize water can intrude or get under the hood due to its intensity...
So, I had to replace my 4.5+ year old original battery (2019 Ram Bighorn) which seemed to be on its last legs and didn't want to wait until one cold morning for a surprise . When I removed it, the battery tray/sectioned compartments under the battery were FILLED with water. The battery was fully...
That's not going to happen - it's Costco/employees and they're not going to futz with the rules or "book" procedures to please me or anyone else. I get their point - the pads have to be put in the prescribed areas they trained their tire techs to do so - no deviance. If they moved them further...
THANKS!! You saved me the trouble of the photo - here is one from that post:
The photo makes it looks like less due to the angle but it pretty much covers that whole lift point if you look at it directly from underneath. So, about a 3" x 4" or 4" x 5" section just below the bottom edge of...
So....I went to Costco today to get my free tire rotation/balance and an hour or so after I dropped off the truck I got a call from them saying they could not perform the rotation. Reason they gave was the Skeerdy Cat plate edges interfered with them properly placing the front hydraulic lift...
I saw you mentioned that above...but...on the newer style Rams the windshield seems to have even more of a slant/aerodynamic styling and better airflow. Are you saying that older Rams had better aerodynamics/airflow?? You'd think it would be the opposite, no?
Anyway, new windshield went in...
UPDATE: So....just after me posting about my "last year" windshield replacement (post right above) guess what happened exactly 1 week later?? (must be something to this "jinx" thing). Yep....was driving on a highway, heard a slight ping off the windshield (didn't see anything) - next morning I...
That could be a slight concern I guess on a smaller veh. with a confined undercarriage (or low ground clearance) but on our trucks there is PLENTY of room for airflow over & around the plate.
Had mine replaced last year by Safelite....lucky for me they used OEM/Mopar branded windshield - I saw the price on that was something like $850 (standard windshield...none of the HUD/special stuff). Had a $100 comp. deductible so that was all I paid (plus tipped the tech $20 BEFORE he did the...
